Dear Parents & Carers,
It has been a busy week for the school, preparing for the Harvest Festival assembly today. It was a great opportunity for the children & staff to focus their thoughts to give thanks for the Harvest and help others who may be less fortunate than ourselves.
This year, we decided to support the ‘Living Well Foodbank’. The Living Well Foodbank in Bromley now give out over 200 bags of food per week and rely almost entirely on donations of food to run the foodbank. Unlike other foodbanks, they do not operate a voucher system. Instead, they spend time with each person who asks for food, to find out about their circumstances and any help they might need.
On Wednesday, we were visited by Mr Wood (Governor) who was impressed by the behaviour and atmosphere in each classroom we visited. Mr Wood spoke to some of the children about their learning, and they were able to discuss what they enjoyed the most about their lessons. Some of the children also spoke very highly about the new homework system, whereby the children can choose their learning each week in a range of subjects, such as English, Maths, IPC, Science & Enrichment.
I would like to thank Mr Wood for his visit to the school this week, and for giving his time.
