Dear Parents & Carers,
I hope you all had a good, restful half-term break. This week, several members of staff paid tribute and celebrated the life of Mr John Wood, who sadly and suddenly passed away recently. It was a very emotional day, but a lovely service which gave thanks for his life and the contributions he has made to so many people. John will always be
remembered and loved by the Pickhurst community, and I know you will join me in keeping his family in our thoughts during this very challenging time. Rest in Peace, John.
On Wednesday, I led an open morning for prospective parents looking to join
Pickhurst. It was a great morning and an excellent opportunity to discuss what makes Pickhurst such a great school to our new wave of potential parents . Thank you to everyone that came along to the morning, and thank you also to everyone that has left such positive feedback since. It is always much appreciated to hear positive feedback!
On Thursday, the children enjoyed a fantastic whole-school assembly. We were visited by a selection of footballers who play for the local Bromley football club. They gave a very inspirational presentation to the children, and they really demonstrated that
anything is possible if you work hard enough. One of the players was an ex-Pickhurst student, and they very much enjoyed coming back and visiting the school. Thank you to Mr Dewhurst for organising such an excellent event for the children.
Next week is Parents’ Evenings for Y3 & Y4. Please ensure you have made your
appointments to meet with your child’s teachers, using the booking system that would have been emailed or texted to you. I look forward to seeing many of you next week.
As you are aware, from Monday we will be using our new online payments and
communication system. You should have received your online registration details. Please contact a member of the office staff if you have not yet received them or are having problems logging in.
Have a lovely weekend!
