Dear Parents & Carers,

The first half-term has been a very busy and productive one. Our new Year 3 pupils are a credit to the school and it has been fantastic to see how well they have all settled into their new classes, at the Juniors.

It has also been lovely to see the older pupils of the school flourishing in their year groups, with some taking lots of new roles & responsibilities, such as pupil parliament, eco-warriors, charity representatives & school council, amongst many others.

I am also very excited to finally launch the new after-school club provision (P.A.Ls) here at Pickhurst Academy. I know this will be a fantastic extension to the school day, providing the children with enriching opportunities. Please do continue to send in your permission slips and payment for each club.

Year 3 parents’ evening has been very successful, with many positive suggestions and comments made in the parent surveys. Year 4 parents’ evening online booking system has now gone live, so please do check your emails for the link to sign up. If you experience any problems, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the main school office team.

I would like to also take this opportunity to encourage all parents & carers to take note of the ‘key dates & events’ for the upcoming busy term ahead. This can be found on the school website, under ‘calendar’.

I would like to wish you all a restful half-term break, and I look forward to seeing everyone back at school, refreshed & ready to learn, on Tuesday 29th October 2019.

Mr Siggs,

Principal
