Dear Parents & Carers,
It has been a very busy couple of weeks here at Pickhurst Academy, in the run up to Christmas.
Firstly, we have been treated with a variety of Christmas performances by all year groups this week. The acting, singing & dancing has been fantastic, and it is great to see the children’s talents shining through.
Myself & Mr Church also very much enjoyed watching the choirs performing at Hayes Free Church & St. Francis Church last week. They sang wonderfully, and it was a lovely event to be part of – I particularly enjoyed David’s dancing to accompany his singing!
Thank you to all the children that participated in last week’s Christmas carol concert, a joint event with the Infant school. Again, the singing was beautiful and I would like to thank Mrs Methven & Major Ackroyd for their hard work.
It was also a busy week for each class, as they visited the Life Bus. They learnt lots of valuable and interesting lessons, linked to the PSHCE curriculum. The lead teacher has commented on how well-behaved and respectful the children were in all year groups. Well done to everyone!
I have also had very positive feedback from the organisers from Monday’s Y5 trip to London. They also commented on how well-behaved the children were, and how well they worked together to complete their challenge. Thank you to the Y5 teaching team for enabling the children to participate in this amazing trip.
As I am sure you are aware, there has been an admission consultation shared with parents and families, regarding the Langley Park Trust. Please be assured that the school will be submitting our response to the consultation, and I would recommend that all parents do the same.
Finally, I would like to say a big thank you to our amazing PTA. They have been working so hard to put on all of the recent events, and they have been fantastic. We couldn’t do any of it without you!
I hope you have a great weekend!
