On Monday, Year 5 had their IPC entry day. Their topic this term is ‘Mission to Mars’. Throughout the day, the children explored different qualities needed to be an astronaut. They explored different space food and enjoyed tasting space ice cream; they investigated how dexterous astronauts need to be, especially when wearing gloves as part of a spacesuit. In addition, the children designed their own robotic rover to explore the surface of Mars and took part in military fitness to see if they really are fit enough to be an astronaut. It was a great day and the children explored different skills and training that astronauts need to undertake before being allowed to go into space. The children are all excited about the learning to come and can’t wait to explore their Mission to Mars.
Our Y4 pupils had their Tudor Day on Tuesday this week. Their costumes looked fantastic and the children thoroughly enjoyed the day.
We would like to invite you to our Meet the Teacher afternoon on Monday 24th September. Once you have collected your child from the playground, from 3.30pm you are welcome to visit their classroom and meet their teacher. Teachers will be around until 5.15pm. I will be available in the conference room, once you have been to meet your child’s new teacher and see their new learning environment, should you wish to discuss any SEN(D) needs. Mr Siggs will be available around the school during that time if you have any other general queries that you wish to discuss.
Please note that the playground gate is supervised from 8.30am and children should not arrive before this time. If your child is late to school, they must report to the school office to be signed in. If your child is absent, please ensure that you inform the school at your earliest convenience.
Details of the forthcoming PTA AGM will be sent to you via Parentmail shortly.
Well done to those Y6 children who took part in the Bikeability course this week. We hope you had fun whilst learning some great life skills which you can put into practice from now on.
