Dear Parents & Carers,

I would like to start by saying a big thank you to everyone that participated in the recent curriculum consultation. The feedback has been very useful and informative, and I shall be writing to you next week to inform you of the key changes to our Pickhurst Curriculum from September 2019.

This half-term continues to be a very busy and exciting one for everybody; we have several events coming up soon. Please ensure you check the school’s calendar to keep updated on when things are happening. I am looking forward to the Summer Fair next Saturday, which is being organised by our fantastic PTA – There will be several members of junior staff attending so keep an eye out for us and say hello!

On Thursday, the sun was shining and the Y3 children had an enjoyable day at London Zoo. The children were very well behaved, and thoroughly enjoyed learning about all the different animals, especially the Rainforest animals, which links to their current IPC topic ‘Saving the Planet: Rainforests’. Thank you to all the staff and parent helpers that went on the trip, and organised such a fun day for the children!

Next Tuesday, Emma’s Pottery Parlour will be visiting the school so that the children can complete their entries for the competition we won a while ago! The children will create wall art with the theme of healthy eating & healthy living, which will then be placed in the soon-to-be revamped dining hall
