Dear Parents & Carers,

I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable half-term break, and your children have enjoyed their first week back.
This week, Mr Rampton and I both enjoyed visiting the Y3 classes and asking them all about their fact-files on Argentina. It was very interesting to hear how their IPC learning on ‘dinosaurs’ has supported them to produce some excellent pieces of writing.

Similarly in Y4, it was lovely to see how the children were using their IPC and English learning to inspire them to produce some fantastic pieces of art. The children were using a range of materials to produce their artwork, and were particularly inspired by cave-art drawings.
Well done to 5D for welcoming a visitor to the school this week, and showing her the outstanding behaviour and attitudes to learning we have here at Pickhurst Academy. The visitor was so impressed by the children and she commented that this is such a lovely school where she would love to possibly work at one day… well done to the children and Mr Dewhurst too.

Y6 were doing some fabulous and creative writing for their IPC learning – creating wartime recipes and the presentation of the work was outstanding! Well done to everyone 🙂

I am looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible over the next 2 weeks, at parents’ evenings. I would like to inform you that the online booking system has now closed, however if you have not yet made appointments to see your child’s class teache
