It has been a very busy week here at Pickhurst. We had a great couple of days filming our brand new promotional video for the academy; we have filmed lots of lessons and the children all spoke really well. Well done everyone!
On Thursday, School Council were very lucky to visit the Houses of Parliament, with Mr Lovell and Miss Smith. The children learnt a lot about law and democracy from the workshop, and they thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the building. The children will be discussing what they learnt with their classes next week!
Y4 have also had a wonderful week in PGL. The photos that the teachers have posted have been fantastic, and everybody looks like they have had such a fun time! I would like to take this opportunity to say a massive THANK YOU to all the staff and parent helpers that went on the trip and enabled the children to have such an amazing week.
Next week is going to be a very busy week for our Y6 children – the KS2 SATs are finally here. A reminder that it is very important that all children are in school by 8.50am each day next week, to ensure that each test can start on time.
We will be running our breakfast club for the Y6 children in the dining hall – please do encourage your child to attend this club as it is an excellent opportunity for the children to relax and calm any nerves before the tests begin each day.
