PICKHURST ACADEMY PTA

Welcome to the PTA page.

We may be a formal registered charity but that is where the formal stops.

The PTA is made up of a Committee which has an elected Governing Body comprising Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and Committee Members. We hold an annual AGM, generally in the autumn term, where these elections take place.

All parents and carers of children attending Pickhurst Academy are automatically members of the wider association.

We encourage everyone to participate and share their views and opinions, all ideas and suggestions are welcome, and we never turn down help, even the smallest contribution matters.

Please email the PTA direct on pickhurstpta@outlook.com should you have any questions.

To operate successfully and to benefit all the children we need the support of all the parents, in return we offer a chance to make a difference, to be involved in your child’s school life and create some great events.

What we do

Our main role may be to raise much needed funds but just as important is the support we give to both parents and the school and help to promote a strong sense of “Pickhurst” Community. We hold regular events, organise a variety of activities and try to have as much fun as possible

Annual events include:

  • A fireworks display held jointly with our Infants Academy.
  • A Christmas Fair and Carol Concert
  • Termly Discos
  • Our unique Pickfest.

Other Activities include:

  • Cake sales
  • Ice Cream Fridays
  • Dress up days.

Where the money goes

All funds raised by the Association are used to support Pickhurst Junior Academy. Our motto is that anything we do has to benefit ALL the children at the school. We work with the school to decide on items, events and activities where our money can best be used. In a climate where schools are struggling with funding the PTA provide an invaluable addition and support.

PTA funds have gone towards:

  • A Lunchtime makeover; new dining tables, screens and picnic benches.
  • Contributing towards the cost of all children attending London’s Lion King Theatre Show.
  • Forest School waterproofs
