Year 6

Welcome to Year 6
As the oldest year group within the academy, we undertake many activities in addition to those on offer elsewhere.

Throughout the year, we are visited by Transport for London for talks on road safety and Historic Workshops who deliver an immersive workshop experience relating to our history topic: The Ancient Maya. Children are also given extra responsibility whereby they are given prefect and house captain roles.

Children in year 6 are expected to set the example in terms of behaviour for the rest of the school.  They are often asked to help out with parent information days and other visitors. Children are encouraged to become more independent when working on homework and other activities in preparation for secondary school.

At the end of the year, we will put together a production to include everyone in the year group: actors, singers, the choir, directors, musicians, technicians and so on!  It really will be a celebration of all of the children’s talents.
