OFSTED Reports

We are incredibly proud that Pickhurst Primary Academy was graded ‘Outstanding’ in all areas following a full Ofsted inspection.
The inspection was carried out under Section 5 of the Education Act 2005 and recognised the exceptional quality of education, leadership, and care provided across the Academy.
During the visit, inspectors conducted deep dives in several subjects, including Early Reading, Mathematics, Geography, and Design Technology. As part of this process, they:
- Discussed the curriculum with subject leaders
- Observed a range of lessons
- Spoke to teachers and pupils about their learning experiences
- Reviewed samples of pupils’ work
Inspectors also reviewed curriculum information across other subjects to ensure the high quality of teaching and learning was consistent throughout the school.
To evaluate safeguarding, inspectors:
- Reviewed the school’s Single Central Record
- Gathered views from leaders, staff, and pupils
- Considered the school’s culture of openness and its commitment to putting pupils’ wellbeing and safety first
In addition, inspectors met with the Headteacher, senior and subject leaders, and representatives from the local governing body and trust board. They also considered responses from parents, pupils, and staff through Ofsted’s online surveys.
