Welcome to the PTA
Pickhurst PTA
The Pickhurst Parent Teacher Association (PTA) plays a vital role in bringing together parents, carers, and staff to support our school and enhance the educational experience of every child.
Although we are a formally registered charity, our PTA is anything but formal in spirit! We are a friendly, approachable group that welcomes all contributions, big or small, from our wonderful school community.
Who We Are
The PTA is led by an elected Committee, made up of a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, and Committee Members. Elections take place during our Annual General Meeting (AGM), usually held in the autumn term.
All parents and carers of pupils attending Pickhurst Academy are automatically members of the wider association. Everyone is encouraged to get involved, share ideas, and help shape the events and activities we run throughout the year.
If you’d like to get in touch, please email us directly at pickhurstpta@outlook.com, we’d love to hear from you!
What We Do
The PTA’s main purpose is to raise valuable funds for the school, but just as importantly, we aim to build a strong sense of community and connection among parents, carers, and staff. We organise a variety of events and activities that not only raise money but also bring families together and create lasting memories for our children.
Annual Events Include:
- A spectacular Fireworks Display (in partnership with Pickhurst Infant Academy)
- Christmas Fair and Carol Concert
- Termly Discos
- Our much-loved Pickfest
Other Activities Include:
- Cake Sales
- Ice Cream Fridays
- Dress-Up Days
How Funds Are Used
Every penny raised by the PTA directly benefits all pupils at Pickhurst Junior Academy. We work closely with school leaders to decide how best to allocate funds, ensuring that every purchase or contribution enhances the children’s learning experience and enjoyment at school.
Recent PTA funding has supported:
- A lunchtime area makeover, including new dining tables, screens, and picnic benches
- A contribution towards the cost of all children attending London’s Lion King Theatre Show
- New Forest School waterproofs for outdoor learning
In a time when school budgets are increasingly stretched, the PTA provides invaluable support, helping to fund projects and experiences that make a real difference.
Get Involved
Our PTA thrives on community spirit. Whether you can offer time, ideas, or practical help, your involvement makes a difference. Together, we can continue to create opportunities and experiences that enrich school life for every Pickhurst pupil.
